How much are the fees?

Free to list. Pay 4% when your coral sells. First month is always free.

What payment processor do you use?

We use Stripe, an industry leading payment processor used by companies such as Amazon, AirBnB, Uber, Toyota, and Microsoft. Some key benefits of Stripe include:

  • Stripe is a PCI Level 1 Service Provider, the highest level of certification available in the payments industry. Stripe meets all 12 PCI DSS requirements and sub-requirements, and has been independently audited.  
  • Stripe has CBPR and PRP certifications, which demonstrate that its privacy practices comply with these systems.  
  • Stripe complies with the U.S. Data Privacy Framework, the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. DPF, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.  
  • Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) - Stripe requires users to provide proof of their identity and address when they sign up for an account. Stripe also monitors transaction patterns to help prevent money laundering and other fraudulent schemes.  
  • Stripe's Privacy Controls and Cookie Solution comply with the ePrivacy.
Who is behind ReefnBid.com?

ReefnBid.com is made by Pieces of the Ocean (POTO) entirely from scratch to solve many pain points of running online auctions over the years. We believe that by bringing reputable sellers together on the same platform, we can offer more selections to the hobbyists, entice a larger audience to participate, and this increase in exposure can greatly benefit the sellers. A rising tide lifts all boats.

Will I make money?

Simply put, sellers on ReefnBid average higher selling price per item over eBay, while facing substantially lower fees and lower rate of non-payers. In the rare occasions that your corals don't sell, they are automatically added to Second Chances where the public can purchase at the winning bid. There is also the opportunity to upsell and build future relationships with your customers.

Here are some suggestions to ensure a successful seller experience:

1. take good photos;

2. ensure photos show an accurate representation of the corals;

3. post regularly to encourage repeating customers;

4. have a variety of selections; 

6. provide good customer service to your customers;

Will auction devalue my reputation?

POTO wouldn’t invest so much time and energy into building ReefnBid if they thought auctions would harm their reputation.
